Privacy Policy

Account information: when you sign up we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Academic content: the courses, deadlines, tasks, notes, and files you add. This content belongs to you and is used to power your calendar, planner, countdowns, and reminders.

Usage data: basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how the app is used so we can improve it.

To provide the core service — extracting and organizing your deadlines, generating your calendar and study plan, and showing exam countdowns.

To send the email reminders you opt into. You can turn these off at any time from your account settings.

To keep your account secure and to maintain and improve SemesterMap.

Files you upload (such as syllabi and rubrics) are stored in private, access-controlled storage. They are only accessible to you when you are signed in, and are streamed through authenticated requests — never exposed via public links.

When you delete a file it is moved to Trash and can be restored. Permanently deleting it removes the underlying file from storage.

Deleted courses, deadlines, and tasks are soft-deleted and kept in your Trash so you can recover anything removed by accident.

You can permanently delete items from Trash at any time. Permanently deleted data cannot be recovered.

If you enable reminders (a Pro feature), we send a daily digest of upcoming deadlines to your account email. These are transactional messages tied to your settings, and you control the timing window and can disable them whenever you like.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers required to run SemesterMap (such as our database, file storage, and email delivery providers), and only to the extent needed to operate the service.

You can access, edit, or delete your content at any time from within the app. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the app or by email. Continued use of SemesterMap after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
